Event Details

Business and Financial Planning Workshop

Brought to you as part of TechHub's 'Finance Week', this workshop aims to provide tech startups / entrepreneurs with an introduction to some key financial considerations when building a business plan and raising finance. 

Demonstrating how a sound financial plan can support overall business or strategic objectives, topics will include...

  • Projections for company performance
  • Cash and working capital requirements
  • Company valuation

...and will also look at...

  • Financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Business plan assumptions for revenue, opex and capex
  • Financing plans and funding options (e.g. debt/equity)

The workshop will also touch on considerations related to setting up a company from a tax and governance perspective.

 

Jim Bailey

Jim Bailey has a MBA from London Business School with a focus on corporate finance.  He has worked in the Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) industries for the past 15+ years.  This includes roles with large corporate and start-ups and he has held positions in Strategic Planning, Business and Corporate Development, Mergers & Acquisitions and Finance.  His most recent roles include Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Non-Executive and Executive Board Director.  He is currently interim CFO of a mobile advertising start up and provides financial consulting to TMT companies including business planning, financing and M&A.

 

Cancellation Policy

Tickets for events at TechHub and sold through Eventbrite are non-refundable, except in the following circumstances:
  1. In the event of a sold out event and where we are able to resell the ticket (TechHub will not be liable for unsold tickets);
  2. In the event of postponement of the event, where your ticket will be valid for the rescheduled date or you will be entitled to a refund;
  3. In the event of cancellation of the event in which case a refund will be made.
